XBOW builds an autonomous offensive security platform. AI agents probe a customer's applications for weaknesses the way an attacker would, a practice known as penetration testing, so that tests can run in hours and far more often than manual ones. It began with web applications and is extending its coverage to mobile and native software.
Oege de Moor, who created GitHub Copilot and GitHub Advanced Security, founded XBOW in January 2024. The company drew attention when its system reached the top of the HackerOne leaderboard, a bug bounty platform, showing that an AI agent could find real vulnerabilities at scale.
In March 2026 XBOW raised $120 million in a Series C led by DFJ Growth and Northzone, valuing it at more than $1 billion. A $35 million extension in May 2026 added strategic investors including the venture arms of NVIDIA, Accenture, Samsung and SentinelOne. It has more than 250 staff and more than 100 customers, and is based in Seattle.
