Safe Superintelligence Inc. (SSI) is an American AI research company founded in June 2024 by Ilya Sutskever, OpenAI's former chief scientist, with Daniel Gross and Daniel Levy. It describes itself as a straight-shot lab with one goal and one product, a safe superintelligence, and says it avoids product cycles and management overhead so that safety stays ahead of capabilities.
SSI has not released a model or product. It works from offices in Palo Alto and Tel Aviv and has said little in public about its research, beyond saying it has research worth scaling up.
Daniel Gross left at the end of June 2025, and Sutskever became chief executive, with Levy as president. SSI raised $1 billion in 2024 and, according to reports, a further $2 billion in 2025 at a $32 billion valuation. In July 2026 it announced a long-term partnership with NVIDIA that includes an NVIDIA investment and access to its Vera Rubin systems, which SSI says will increase its computing power tenfold.
