Irregular describes itself as a frontier security lab. It runs controlled simulations on advanced AI models to measure two things: how far they could help attackers in cyber operations, and how well they hold up when attackers target them. It builds testing tools and methods for AI developers and deployers, and publishes research on how new models perform on offensive security benchmarks.
The company was founded in 2023 by Dan Lahav and Omer Nevo and was previously known as Pattern Labs. It works with leading AI labs, including OpenAI, Anthropic and Google, on evaluations before models are released. Government bodies, including the UK government, are also clients.
In September 2025 Irregular announced $80 million raised across its seed and Series A rounds, led by Sequoia Capital and Redpoint Ventures, and said it already earned millions of dollars in annual revenue. It is based in Tel Aviv.
