1X Technologies builds humanoid robots, with a focus on the home. It was founded in 2014 as Halodi Robotics by Bernt Øyvind Børnich, who remains chief executive, and it is now based in Palo Alto, California. Its earlier robot, EVE, was built for industrial work.

Its main product is NEO, a humanoid designed to live in people's homes and handle chores. 1X opened pre-orders in October 2025 and says it booked out its first year of production, 10,000 robots, within five days. It builds NEO at its own factory in Hayward, California, and has promised that the first robots will reach customers during 2026 through an early access programme. In December 2025 it agreed to supply up to 10,000 NEO robots between 2026 and 2030 to companies owned by EQT, one of its investors, mainly for factory, warehouse and logistics work.

The company is privately held and backed by EQT Ventures, Tiger Global, the OpenAI Startup Fund and others.
