From late December 2025, X users prompted Grok, the AI chatbot built into X, to edit photos of real people into bikinis or states of undress, including images of minors. One researcher counted about 6,700 sexually suggestive or nudifying Grok images an hour. Indonesia and Malaysia blocked Grok, Ofcom (the UK's online safety regulator) opened a formal investigation, and X said it had stopped the Grok account editing real people into revealing clothing.
