Anthropic released Claude Opus 4.6, its top model at the time, with a one-million-token context window (how much text it can take in at once) in beta. Claude Code, Anthropic's coding tool, gained agent teams, letting several AI agents work on a task in parallel, and the model could decide for itself when to think at length. Prices stayed at $5 per million input tokens and $25 per million output tokens (tokens are the chunks of text a model reads and writes).
