Google released Gemini 3 on 18 November 2025, describing it as its most intelligent model. The model went straight into Google's largest products on launch day: the Gemini app for all users, AI Mode in Google Search for Pro and Ultra subscribers, and developer and business tools including AI Studio and Vertex AI.

Benchmarks

Google's published figures put Gemini 3 Pro at the top of the LMArena leaderboard with an Elo score of 1501, a rating calculated from head-to-head votes. It scored 37.5% on Humanity's Last Exam without tools, 91.9% on GPQA Diamond and 76.2% on SWE-bench Verified. A slower Gemini 3 Deep Think mode reached 41.0% on Humanity's Last Exam, 93.8% on GPQA Diamond and 45.1% on ARC-AGI-2 with code execution. The model has a context window of one million tokens and works across text, images, video, audio and code.

Antigravity

Alongside the model, Google launched Antigravity, a free public preview of what it called an agent-first development platform. It has a familiar editor view with tab completion, plus a separate manager view for running several agents at once. Agents can use the editor, a terminal and a browser, and they produce what Google calls Artifacts, such as task lists, implementation plans, screenshots and browser recordings, so a developer can check the work without reading every step. Developers can leave comments on that work while agents keep running. Antigravity supported Gemini 3 as well as Anthropic's Claude Sonnet 4.5 and OpenAI's gpt-oss.

Scale

Google said the Gemini app had passed 650 million monthly users and that AI Overviews in Search reached 2 billion monthly users. That reach put a new frontier model, one of the most capable available, in front of a very large audience on the day it was released.

Why it matters

Gemini 3 moved Google to the top of several public leaderboards at the end of 2025. Antigravity marked its entry into agent-based coding tools, a category in which developers increasingly handed whole tasks to software agents to complete.
