The Linux Foundation, the non-profit home of many open-source projects, launched the Agentic AI Foundation with three projects: Anthropic's Model Context Protocol (MCP), a standard way to connect AI models to tools and data; Block's goose agent; and OpenAI's AGENTS.md, a file that tells coding agents how to work in a project. Platinum members included AWS, Anthropic, Block, Bloomberg, Cloudflare, Google, Microsoft and OpenAI. By then MCP had more than 10,000 public servers and AGENTS.md was used in more than 60,000 open-source projects.
