At its WWDC developer conference on 10 June 2024 Apple announced Apple Intelligence, generative AI models (which create text and images) built into iPhone, iPad and Mac, with harder requests sent to Apple-run servers it called Private Cloud Compute. It also said ChatGPT, powered by GPT-4o, would be available through Siri and its writing tools later in the year.
