The Future of Life Institute, a non-profit that campaigns on risks from technology, put out an open letter calling for a pause of at least six months on training AI systems more powerful than GPT-4. It was dated 22 March and released on 29 March. More than 1,000 people had signed at release, including Elon Musk and Steve Wozniak.
