OpenAI's first developer conference launched GPT-4 Turbo with a 128K context window (how much text it can take in at once) at lower prices, the Assistants API (tools for building assistants into other apps), and custom GPTs anyone could build without code, with a GPT Store promised for later. Eleven days later its CEO, Sam Altman, was fired.
